Schizophrenia Diaries

HOW DID THIS SITE GET STARTED?

This site was based off the 2 year diary of a real life Schizophrenic, James Caldwell. His True Diary of Psychological Episodes takes you along the journey of a mad man who struggles to get stabilized on medicine. His diaries of psychosis talk about everything he was hearing, tasting, smelling, and seeing during these encounters at the time, Hallucinating. He will take you through his fears, thoughts, and feelings. His original handwritten notebook has been transcribed to digital.

HOW HAS THIS SITE EVOLVED? AND HOW CAN I HELP SCHIZOPHRENICS?

We wanted to include other true stories of Schizophrenia suffering, and recovery as well as various Schizophrenia resources on this webpage. We have also made it possible for Schizophrenics to submit their own stories to add to the site for the purpose of helping others with this mental illness.

Head to SchizophreniaDiaries.com for interesting true stories about Schizophrenia. You can even submit your own!

i read through most of these stories at schizophreniadiaries.com and some of them are pretty eye opening. definitely an interesting read for anyone who’s curious

Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation :) Anyway … nice blog to visit.

cheers, Truk.

It would be great to see the language up-dated on this site, such as dropping the use of Schizophrenic…terribly stigmatising and the description of mad man is terrible.

Hmm.. I see your point, Nicky.
But actually it’s really difficult to substitute the word ’schizophrenic’ with some other word. It’s a very specific word, conveying the whole ’story’ of the disease known as Schizophrenia. May be the phrase: ‘person suffering from schizophrenia’ would be more appropriate? I don’t know.

I read through the majority of the blogs and found them to be interesting and a little shocking. They definitely opened my eyes to the illness of Schizophrenia. One entry, in particular, moved me very deeply; it was called “People Who Have Won – an essay by Kristen Hilj”. It was absolutely beautifully written and was very touching.
